About Me:
Yo, I AIN'T BEEN ON HERE FOR A WHILE NOW & EVERYTHING'S DIFFERENT. WHERE THE FUCK DID ALL MY MUSIC GO?? I GUESS I GOTTA START OVER. FIRST TRACK IS A SNIPPET I DID CALLED "Fallback". ENJOY. MORE TO COME...

Mister J Born Richard Jimenez in Manhattan, NYC on November 3, 1978 to father, Ricardo Jimenez and mother, Indera Haridas.

Both of my parents hailed from South America, my mother from Guyana, the father from Ecuador. I grew up mostly with my mother and her side of the family, since my father was rarely around. He had a drug and alcohol problem and never made an effort to reform. Nevertheless, I grew up amongst people who loved and nurtured me. I always had a love for music since very young, and had a knack for imitating songs I liked. Years later, at the age of 13, a new influence caught my ear. I always knew it was around, but I had no idea how much of an impact it was going to make on me. HIP-HOP.

I was quite taken with it. For the next couple of years, artists like LL Cool J, Nas, Ice Cube, Dre and Snoop, Salt N Pepa, Queen Latifah, just to name a few, had an incredible impact on Mr. J's early days. They were my companions as my parents moved me from place to place. From New York, to New Jersey, to North Carolina, to Baltimore, DC, Virginia, Chicago Heights, Indiana, and finally, Florida. From the early 90's listening to Das EFX and Black Sheep, to the late 90's listening to Mobb Deep and the Wu-Tang Clan. In '97, going on 19 years of age, I made the decision to start the road to glory, and try to become a hip-hop artist...

I felt like the first 3 years was straight up practice & I REALLY started trying when I was about 21 with my cousin Passion.

My love for the genre is intense. People mastering wordplay, cleverly constructing beats from virtually anything... it was incredible. My playlist expanded with each passing year, so that when I decided what I wanted to do, I didn't feel too much like a fresh fish. My teachers were all the artists I admired so much. I really started at 21, and almost a decade later... Hundreds of songs created. Solos, group songs, duets, collaborations with different types of artists. And they were all different styles, from street music, to hip-hop love ballads, to songs full of anger, to just having fun. Any performances I was a part of, I always stood apart from the rest, capturing the crowd with melodic beats and excellent lyrical delivery. I've performed many times in Orlando, FL at the AKA Lounge, Club Screamers, and The Club at Firestone for several different events. I also won 5 weeks in a row at a performance competition at Club Melao's by University of Florida. I've also graced stages in Tampa, Melbourne, Daytona and Jacksonville. For years, I tried to do things on my own with only the help of my cousin (Passion). Without management assisting, it is extremely difficult to try to do everything. But we still worked hard over the years. More shows, more recognition, mixtapes put out, spots on other mixtapes, incredible networking opportunities, and many demos to many people.

Crazy few years. Ups, downs, good times & BAD. MUCH EXPERIENCE... (MUCH)
2008. Mr. J, and with him Passion, E-Lyricis, John Street begin anew... again. (BLANCO, WHERE U AT???) Currently, I sided with my cousin Passion who runs BRIGADE MUSIC. Mister J has also worked out an agreement with 135 ENTERTAINMENT, run by my long time friend Joe Priceless. I'm an established artist & producer. I've produced for a lot of underground talent in Florida and abroad. Well rounded, experienced, and ready for anything, it is time I joined the ranks of those I admired. --END
