Encornelious grew up in Baltimore, Maryland and like most true dj’s, started spinning as a hobby. It wasn’t long before he noticed he started sounding just as good as some of the popular radio dj’s, so it started to become an obsession. It wasn’t long before he started becoming respected in the hood as a tight dj. Then he started meeting club promoters and radio personalities and started building with them. Shortly after he was busy doing parties and on his way to making a name for himself. Suddenly, because of circumstances in 1995 he moved to South Carolina and basically had to start over. He started hanging out in clubs and once again talked his way into friendships with club owners and radio personalities, but this time would make friends with the program director and the hottest station in the market, WYNN 106.3. He was being patient waiting for an opening with the mixshows. Finally his break came when they needed someone for the “old skool drive at five” mix. He seized the moment and people would call in and give props because he was fresh and different. Then they moved the mix to twelve o’clock and had the drive at five with current music and the twelve o’clock mix was called “the lunch buffet”. Encore had the shot of doing both mixes and took it with stride. Then the break he wanted came when the Friday night dj moved to Atlanta leaving a gap for the mix show. It was finally on. He started rocking the, “ Friday night Block Party “. Then he was doing the Saturday night bump mix and started spinning at all of the clubs. After five years he outgrew his market, making him relocated to the city of Atlanta. One month after he arrived he landed a spot on the syndicated mixshow which was in fifteen markets. He also played at one of the biggest clubs in Atlanta called Vegas nights every weekend. Over yhe past years he has done parties at events for, Lil Jon and the Eastside Boys, Ludacris, Tyrese, DJ Clue, Biz Markie, Ruff Ryders, Field Mob, Faith Evans, Jagged Edge,and Roy Jones jr. Now his biggest task to date is to shop some of his tracks to the industry and establish relationships in the same manner he did with spinning wax and leave a mark on the game with the likes of Timbaland,Dre and the rest of the hip hop/ r&b greats. So listen with an open, not trendy ear and enjoy.
