About Me:
Franchise-The King
It’s pretty arrogant to call yourself The Franchise
King. But like The Game and King Tip before him,
Sunny Shines is more than just swagger and flow.
Hailing from just outside Boston in Dover, NH,
Franchise is quick to point out that to make the music
he makes, you have to love hip hop first. First piece
of evidence – instead of a biography on his myspace.com page, he posted a set of rules (see “Commandments”)
about how to go about your business. Franchise was raised by only his mother and thus, he feels the music he makes relates to so many young men and woman around the world. It was through his come-up, striving to maintain in suburbia, that has honed Franchise's edge as it pertains to the "comprehension factor" in this game of rap/hip-hop. He says, "The direction I'm trying to take my music is to show everyone that we are connected. Through music, I want to prove that everyone has a voice." Having survived thus far through both these niches in our society, where I might add, hip-hop lives and breathes, Franchise has gained a level of understanding of his audience that most artists lack. With his unbreakable voice, you will not hear accounts of one lifestlye that are known to be true while accusations of the other are thrown to the wind. Instead, with his understanding of lifes lessons, Franchise delivers his stories clearly for all to relate to and enjoy. His music is a mirror image of his past and present pain as well as his burning desire to provide a better life for himself and his family. Citing KRS-One, Big Daddy Kane, Jay-Z, Nas, Pac and Biggie as influences, he
says, “I’m inspired by the music that makes you
think.” His flow is staccato-smooth, reminiscent of
the aforementioned Nas, but is decisively his own.
Franchise’s #1 belief is that by staying positive,
nothing is impossible. And because of that, Franchise
is ready to turn his 2007 bubble into a 2009
full-blown burn. BEAST!!!
